Arsenal Legend reveals why Arsenal fans should be excited over Dani Ceballos & William Saliba deals

Arsenal made some transfer noise on Thursday by signing Dani Ceballos and William Saliba and that has Ian Wright excited to say the least.

The Gunners brought in Ceballos on loan for the season from Real Madrid, while Saliba was signed for £27m and loaned back to Saint-Etienne.

These deals have been added to the £6m transfer of Gabriel Martinelli earlier this summer.

After a long wait, the captures of Ceballos and Saliba have led to Wright praising Arsenal.

Spurs were linked with both players and that has made the acquisitions even sweeter for the former Arsenal striker.

“I have to say with Saliba he’s a player that I’m excited about. I didn’t think we’d get him,” Wright explained on his YouTube channel.

“With the club’s chasing him and the money they were throwing at him, for us to make that deal happen, that is a player who has been sought after and we’ve got him.

“Anybody at the club who has played a part in that deal has got to take a maximum amount of credit.

“I know he’s going back and I know we definitely need a centre-half, but if we are going to be totally honest with where Arsenal are at the moment, if we can get a centre-half for the future and we have to loan him back and then have to try and fill spaces and get people in we have to do that.”

On Ceballos, Wright added: “With Dani Ceballos he is someone with a bit of fire in his belly and he didn’t get on with Zidane.

“He didn’t give him a chance and made it clear there is a time where you realise that it’s not going to happen so you have to move on.

“That’s hard for a young player who Madrid invested a lot of money in.

“Hopefully Ceballos is not for him and he can come to us and prove that he’s a top player an hopefully we can make it permanent.”
