Blues fans will love this as £50m rated hitman convince Lampard he is ready to lead Chelsea

Tammy Abraham has once again insisted that he’s ready to lead the line for Chelsea this season. The 21-year-old scored 26 goals in the Championship this season, helping Villa reach the play-off final, where they clinched promotion against Derby at Wembley.

His performances over the course of the season has led to speculation that Lampard is ready to give him his chance at Stamford Bridge, especially as Chelsea are unable to sign any new players over the course of the next few transfer windows.

Chelsea had 41 players out on loan last season – including Abraham’s Under-21 team-mates Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori at Derby, and after selling Eden Hazard to Real Madrid for £89million this month Abraham wants to finally make an impact at Stamford Bridge with the Blues unable to sign a replacement.

He said on the TalkSport website: “I’ve been watching the top strikers in the world and how they react when they miss a chance, and they just always stay focused and take the next one that comes along. Thankfully I did that against Barcelona and hopefully that can be the first of many.

“I’ve got a manager here who believes in the young lads and will give you your chance if you work hard in training. That’s all I needed to hear and I’ll be giving my all for Chelsea this season and hopefully giving the manager something to think about.”

Chelsea are in need of a striker that can score goals and Abraham has proven that he is able to find the net on a regular basis. But leading the Blues attack is different to many other clubs in the Premier League as he will have a lot of pressure on his young shoulders.

But now is the right time to test himself back at Chelsea, and if he fails, he is still young enough to find a new clubs.
