Christopher Nkunku has sealed a permanent move to RB Leipzig from Paris Saint Germain, according to reports.
Nkunku had struggled to stamp his authority in the first team of Thomas Tuchel and he was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in the January transfer window.,
The Gunners were on the look out for midfield reinforcement but after failing to land Nkunku, they settled from Dennis Suarez, who flopped at the Emirates.
The departure of Aaron Ramsey has left the need for a midfield signing at Arsenal and they were believed to be interested in Nkunku.
Nonetheless, they have to look elsewhere to bolster their squad. According to Goal, the 21-year-old midfielder has sealed a €15 million (£14m/$17m) move to Bundesliga side Leipzig.
Emery is thought to be a huge fan of the French gaffer, who was a key member of his squad in the at Parc des Prince between 2016 and 2018.
Confirming the report, Sporting director Markus Krosche told Leipzing’s official website: “Christopher Nkunku’s skill set fits very well with our profile.
“He is a dynamic and versatile attacking player and thus increases the variability in our game.
“We are delighted that this highly talented player has chosen our club and we believe he will help us with his qualities.”
Arsenal are yet to sign a player after Gabriel Martinelli but Unai Emery has assured the fans that they are working on three more signings.
They are in dire need of a centre-back, a left back, a midfielder and a winger but their budget is about £45m.
