Just In: Here are two crucial mistakes that Frank Lampard made vs Leicester City: Agree or not?

Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw by Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday which means the Blues are now winless in their first three games of the season and the pressure is building up on Frank Lampard.

The Blues took the lead early on in the game through youngster Mason Mount and it looked like things were finally settling down for Frank Lampard.

But the Foxes dominated the second half of the game and it was Ndidi who got the equaliser for Leicester and at that point, it looked like Chelsea were about to lose their third game in a row.

Thankfully it was not to be as Leicester squandered multiple chances to ensure that Frank Lampard manages to pick up his first point as the new Chelsea manager.

And speaking after the game, Ian Wright pointed out two mistakes that the Blues boss made during the match which could have invariably affected the result of the game.

The pundit said(as reported): “I was very surprised to see Olivier Giroud getting taken off when he did.

“[It needed to be] 70 minutes or 75 minutes and then bring Tammy on to stretch them a bit more.

“The ball didn’t stay in the area where they could cause Leicester problems. Stick with him and he could link up with Willian, who didn’t play particularly well. I thought the ball was coming back too quickly.”

Ian Wright also pointed out the flaw in the zonal marking tactic that Lampard had been using to defend setpieces

“I think he will be wary of that,” Wright added.

“I’m not sure why he’s not going man-to-man at set-pieces because people will see they’re vulnerable in that respect. You saw it there.

“He’s [Ndidi] standing in an area where you’d much rather someone pick him up.

“When you’ve got a running jump if the ball is good, it’s very difficult to stop somebody. And the ball was fantastic from [James] Maddison.”

Next up, Frank Lampard will take his side to Carrow Road for a game vs Norwich City and the manager will be hoping to pick up his first win during this game.
