Manchester United are on the brink of signing Harry Maguire from Leicester City, reports COS, who cited Independent as their source.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has laid bare his desire to bolster every aspect of his squad and United have been heavily linked with a move for the Foxes Maguire and Sporting Bruno Fernandes.
United had offer £50million to Leicester City for the sturdy centre-back but the same was thrown out.
Leicester City have pegged the valuation of Three Lions player at around £80m, with rife reports claiming they won’t budge unless this price tag is met.
And now, according to our source above, Man United have agreed a £70m with an extra £10m in add-ons deal to sign the 26-year-old.
Manchester City were linked with a move for the player but they pulled the plug on his chase over his bogus transfer valuation, leaving the Red Devils as clear favourites to land him.
Meanwhile, Solskjaer is also looking to add a more creative player to his plethora of otherwise midfielders and Fernandes has appealed to him for a transfer.
United have also seen bids for the 24-year-old Portuguese thrown out but according O Jogo, as translated by Sport Witness, Sporting are keen on selling the player and they are now preparing for his departure.
Without any doubt, Maguire and Fernandes are upgrades to a major chunk United players and they will make the side more formidable when the deal for them is completed.
Fernandes is valued at about £70m, which will take United spending to £150m for him and Maguire.
