If, and it is a big if, Chelsea’s transfer ban is frozen whilst the charges are investigated by the Court of Arbitration, an interesting piece of transfer tittle-tattle has emerged today.

According to the news source, the Daily Star, Chelsea are looking to bring in two players that carry the world-class label, with the duo being Marco Asensio and Edinson Cavani.

Asensio, currently on the books of Real Madrid does, in my opinion, look the more viable option. At 23-years-of-age the forward clearly has his best years ahead of him, but whether he could be persuaded to leave the Bernabeu remains to be seen.

Cavani, on the other hand, is something of a dilemma. My head is telling me that with the striker now being 32-years-of-age, we should be leaving well alone. But his scoring record nags away at me, even at that age he managed to score 22 goals in 31 appearances in all competitions last season, a more than decent return.

But what are your opinions, if Chelsea can get the transfer ban frozen, on these two reported targets?
