The Reason behind big win celebration against Tottenham Hotspur Frank Lampard explains

Frank Lampard is a Chelsea legend and enjoyed his fair share of victories over Tottenham.

And for Chelsea, beating Spurs means more to them than beating every other team.

The Blues have for some time been Tottenham’s bogey team and that proved to be the case on Sunday with Chelsea running out 2-0 winners at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Willian opened the scoring early on from a quickly-taken short corner, before a moment of madness from Spurs keeper Paulo Gazzaniga allowed Willian to add a second from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time.

Son Heung-min saw red in the second half and with him went any chance of Spurs getting back into the contest.

The Chelsea players and supporters certainly enjoyed their day out in north London, lauding it over their rivals as they have done on so many occasions before.

And at the heart of the celebrations on the pitch was head coach Lampard, who picked up where he left off as a player against Tottenham.

Lampard was quick to say there was no “over-celebration” afterwards.

Speaking to Sky Sports he said: “It might look like it meant a lot to me and it does mean a lot to me, but it’s about what it means to this club and the players and the fans.
